Step into Healing
My mission is to offer a deeply compassionate and grounded space where you can explore the layers of your story, release what no longer serves you, and reconnect with your most authentic self. I believe therapy is more than symptom relief it’s a process of understanding the origins of your burdens so that true, lasting change can take place.

Ashley M. Benakis
MA, LPC, LCMHC
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, with over a decade of experience walking alongside individuals during and after some of life’s most challenging seasons. My work with clients from diverse backgrounds has affirmed what I believe at my core: every person carries a story that is uniquely their own, yet we all share a fundamental longing for safety, connection, and healing.

I specialize in helping adults build lasting change through better understanding their relationship with themself. Through this process, the burdens of depression, anxiety and trauma can be relieved.
My Story
I felt called to the healing profession early on, drawn instinctively to the inner landscapes that shape our lives. Having witnessed the impact of unprocessed trauma within my own family system, I became deeply aware of how pain can echo across generations, until someone chooses to turn toward it with courage and compassion.

That awareness guided me into this work. I wanted to understand what lives beneath the surface: the burdens we carry in our bodies, the stories we inherit, and the patterns we repeat until we’re ready to gently untangle them.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside hundreds of clients as they step into this brave work. Breaking cycles of dysfunction, healing from emotional wounds, and reconnecting with the parts of themselves they thought were lost. It is a privilege to hold space for that transformation, to meet clients exactly where they are, and to support them as they move toward a more grounded, whole, and embodied way of being.
